While Europe got hit by the new virus named “Corona” or “Covid19”, we had to part with China and our studies. Although the Chinese government is great at managing and preventing the virus from further spreading, our University still hasn’t provided any useful information about the start of the new semester. A month has passed and we don’t know exactly what to do.
We decided to not stay in China, because it would mean staying under quarantine for two weeks and a bigger danger getting infected. We had problems to find food in the supermarkets in late January. After we’ve been to Guangzhou and then back again in Zhuhai, we had to cancel our second part of the vacation. Both, Christy and me, had this amazing plan of going to the province of Yunnan. We love to take walks in the beautiful nature and what we liked the most about our first trip of this vacation was, indeed, Yangshuo. We lost a lot of money (hotels, trains etc.), even though we cancelled everything.
Then, we decided to get out of China and go somewhere else?!
But where to?
We had two ideas: Vietnam or Taiwan.
Our choice fell on Taiwan, because the people there speak Mandarin and we’ve already been there almost two years ago. Our first and last trip to Taiwan was very unique. And my expectations for this time were too high.

We have travelled a whole month on this island and have seen a lot.
Stay tuned to learn more about it in my next post!
